An actor who had a stint on the CBS soap opera, “The Young and the Restless” has been convicted of molesting a young girl.

Corey Seth Sligh, 30, was convicted on one count of molesting a child younger than 10 on June 28, Bill Bishop, chief assistant state attorney for Okaloosa County Florida told the Cherokee Tribune on Wednesday.

He is facing five to 20 years in prison on the felony child molestation conviction.

Bishop said that Sligh is still facing one count of lewd and lascivious molestation on another charge regarding the same girl in Florida.

Sligh was arrested and charged with child molestation in his hometown of Canton, Georgia, on Oct. 14 and released the same day on a $22,000 bond.

A police report showed the alleged molestation took place from April to September, when it was reported.

Sligh had a brief stint on “The Young and the Restless” in 2014.

Us Weekly, crediting the Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News, reported that actor Corey Sligh has been convicted on one of two counts of child molestation in Georgia and is facing prosecution in Florida.

Sligh was found guilty on one count of molesting a child under the age of 10 in Cherokee County, Georgia.

According to district attorney Shannon Wallace, who spoke to the Tribune & Ledger-News, Sligh faces five to 20 years in prison on the felony conviction.

Us Weekly also noted that Bill Bishop, chief assistant state attorney for Okaloosa County, Florida, said that “One count of lewd and lascivious molestation regarding the same girl – which he still faces in Florida – carries a sentence of 25 years to life in prison if he is charged.”

Loading…. The act of molestation for which Sligh was tried and convicted occurred in March 2016, and the child’s parents reported it to Cherokee County authorities in September 2016.

Neither Sligh nor his representative has released a statement on his conviction.

Corey Seth Sligh, a former actor on the popular CBS television soap opera The Young and the Restless, has been convicted of one count of molesting a child younger than 10, reports Page Six.

Bill Bishop, the chief assistant state attorney for Okaloosa County, Florida, has spoken to reporters, explaining the details of 30-year-old Sligh’s charges and conviction.

The charges he is still facing includes one count of lewd and lascivious molestation and another charge regarding a 10-year-old girl in the state of Florida, said Bishop.

For the charges in Georgia, Sligh faces five to 20 years in prison, although he has not yet been sentenced, says District Attorney Shannon Wallace in Cherokee County.

Even after his arrest and release with the bond, officials in Walton County, Florida, also arrested him on even more charges.

Other than his brief Young and Restless stint, Sligh is also known for creating and starring in a web series called All About Izzie in 2012.

A model and actor who appeared on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless has been convicted of child molestation in his native Georgia, PEOPLE confirms.

A jury on June 28 found Corey Sligh guilty on one count of molesting a girl younger than 10 in 2016, a spokesman for the Cherokee County court in Canton confirms.

Sligh had entered a plea of not guilty after he was arrested in Georgia on Oct. 14, 2016, and charged with the felony child molestation.

A spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office who confirmed the arrest to PEOPLE at the time said that Sligh knew the victim.

Sligh was arrested in November 2016 on the Florida charge, after a woman contacted the Walton County Sheriff’s Office to allege that Sligh had touched her young daughter inappropriately while they were on vacation.

Sligh reportedly last appeared on The Young and the Restless in 2014, performing as an extra in roles as a bartender and waiter.

According to his IMDB page, Sligh also was an extra in 2008’s God Is Dead and co-starred in the web series All About Lizzie.
